Once
in awhile, I am compelled to make vessels. I enjoy the large flat
and uncomplicated surfaces that allow me to paint in a colorful and
unplanned structure. Secondly, they make nice serving pieces for
my own and others' kitchen. I get a certain kind of comfort and
pleasure from serving and eating from things I have made. I'm also
aware of an ancient and archetypal representation that serving food to
my loved ones is the ultimate symbol of motherhood. |
