"Growing up in Philadelphia in the 60's, I was influenced by the rebellious
nature of the emerging Bohemian culture. I was a hippie and very much a
product of that era. I experienced the need to be liberated from the political
and artistic constraints of the 50's, reflected in art, clothes, music and writing.
Being outspoken back then was a way to change things. Today, some 30-
odd years later, I have married, have two children, and live on Sanibel
Island. Creating art out of the surprises and conflicts of nature and teaching it
to others has allowed me to relate to our natural world and express beauty
and serenity. The bond between human beings, animals, and the importance
of our environment is what I am still concerned with all these years later."
